This is a wonderful authentic small child's doll quilt that I acquire many years ago … it is quite simple … made with old homespun check .. 1890 ~ 1900
It is all hand stitched with very small stitches … there is no batting inside and therefore is not quilted … it is a simple single piece of homespun made as a doll quilt ..
Center area is pieced … and that piece is 5 ¾ x 5 ½” , there are two rows of very early tiny stitches ..
It is from a private collection of doll quilts .. and is very unique ..
Back is simple ... their is no backing ...
Found in rural Corning Pa. many years ago, farm house auction …
